COSHCON2023 COVID Protocols

Safety for all is a top priority for National COSH. We will be requiring people to affirm that they are up-to-date on their vaccinations, consistent with any medical needs, in order to register.

  • COSHCON2023 will be mask optional.
  • However, we also strive to be "mask friendly", so feel free to wear a mask if you desire. We will have a mask only section in the main auditorium. We recommend N95, KN95 or KF94 masks.
  • If there's a congregated space where a person/people prefer masks we would ask the group to use them (outside of eating/drinking) if in that group.
  • We also encourage EVERYONE to take a rapid test before the event. If you have extra tests that are going to expire soon, we will accept donations for those who don't have tests - please bring them along!
  • If you are feeling sick or with symptoms, please do NOT come. We will refund your registration. However the conference center requires 24 hours notice or you will be charged for one night's stay.
  • At registration we will have masks and hand sanitizer available if desired.

The National Conference on Worker Safety and Health (COSHCON2023) is the only national gathering of its kind. We bring together a diverse, inclusive and bilingual group  of workers, occupational health and safety experts, unions, activists and academics united around common goals. We join together to celebrate and encourage workers' power, make our workplaces safer and reduce the toll of on-the-job injuries, illnesses and fatalities.

Rooms

There are several hotels close to MCC. Our room block is available on a first come, first served basis and historically the rooms have filled up in mid November. If the conference center is full, you should be able to find accommodations in the area (though not necessarily UNION staffed like MCC). We suggest you look for a union friendly alternative here: https://www.fairhotel.org/ or download the Fair Hotel app.

We have arranged a group rate for rooms at The Maritime Conference Center for those who would like to stay on site:

  • $162 per person per night for single occupancy
  • $207 for 2 people per night for double occupancy

Rooms at the conference center include breakfast and dinner as well as a shuttle to and from the airport or train station. [Lunch and snacks are included with COSHCON2023 registration.]

To book your room, please call (866) 900-3517 and make sure to tell them you are with COSHCON2023 to get our group rate.

Presenting a poster at the National Conference on Worker Health and Safety is an opportunity to help conference attendees learn about community occupational health and safety projects and research. Poster presenters illustrate their findings by displaying graphs, photos, diagrams and a small amount of text on the poster boards.

The Poster Session will take place on Thursday, December 7th during the Expo @ COSHCON.
