“We are following in the footsteps of Mother Jones, who said: ‘Pray for the dead and fight like hell for the living,’”said Jane Fonda, who assisted in production of In Memoriam. “The U.S. House passed legislation in May that includes critical safety regulations for essential workers.  The Senate must act now; every day of delay puts more lives at risk.”

The campaign to win protections for essential workers is supported by U.S. labor unions, Greenpeace USA, MoveOn and other labor, civil and environmental organizations. The “In Memoriam” video includes names and photographs of frontline food service, health care, meat processing and postal workers who lost their lives to the COVID-19.

Those named and pictured represent just a small fraction of the essential workers who have lost their lives while providing food, medical care, sanitation, shelter and other life-sustaining goods and services during an unprecedented public health crisis.
